Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Wuest Software Labs when you buy or use Lookout. We've kept it readable — please take a moment to read it.
Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Wuest Software Labs (“WSL,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, installing, or using Lookout, or by purchasing a license, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the software.
Your license
When you purchase Lookout, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software on Macs you own or control, for the lifetime of the major version you purchased. This is a license, not a sale of the software itself — we retain all ownership.
Your license key is yours to keep. Please don't share it publicly or with people outside your household, as it identifies your purchase.
What you may not do
Purchases & free trial
Lookout is a one-time purchase of $9.99 USD — there is no subscription. Your purchase includes updates for the current major version. Payments are handled by Stripe; by purchasing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.
We offer a 3-day free trial with no credit card required so you can evaluate the software before buying. Some features may be limited during the trial.
Refunds
Because we offer a free trial, we encourage you to try Lookout before buying. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, contact us within 14 days and we'll work with you on a refund. Where required by your local consumer-protection laws, your statutory refund rights always apply.
Updates & availability
We may release updates, bug fixes, and improvements from time to time. Some features depend on third-party services (such as threat feeds) that may change or become unavailable. We aim to keep Lookout working well on supported versions of macOS, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability of every feature.
Intellectual property
Lookout, the Wuest Software Labs name, the radar/scope mark, and all related software, designs, and content are owned by WSL and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding beyond using the software as licensed.
Disclaimers
Lookout is a transparency and monitoring tool provided “as is.” It helps you understand and spot suspicious activity, but it is not a complete antivirus product and does not guarantee that every threat will be detected or prevented. You remain responsible for your own security practices, backups, and decisions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WSL will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Lookout. Our total liability for any claim relating to the software will not exceed the amount you paid for your license. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Termination
Your license remains in effect until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach these terms. On termination, you must stop using and remove the software. Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law — continue to apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Wuest Software Labs is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
